So I finallly climbed an actual mountain! Well, most of one. The climbing clubs’ traditional trip to North Wales was last weekend. And it was the wrong weather for actual climbing, so we went for a scramble up Tryfan instead. Pretty nice to start with, albeit hard work, I have a lovely picture of me sitting on the Cannon, about halfway up.

It did get a bit scary near the summit though because we were up in the clouds so it was wet and windy, so all the rocks were slippery and the wind was making a pretty determined effort to blow us off the mountain. So we were within about 50 metres of the summit when we decided things were getting too dangerous and found a way around and down the other side.

K, so I bought some blank postcards the other day for sending into postal competitions and the like. And I’ve been wondering what to do with the rest.

And then I had an idea, I’m gonna draw on them and send them out to internet friends who I know.

So now I need people to ask for them. So… if anyone wants one, I need a PM/note/e-mail with “Please send me a postcard” (or something to that effect) and your address. =3

In other news my tablet has basically packed up entirely now, so I need to replace that. Naturally this happens right as I finally get an illustration project at uni… =/

I need to do some other upgrades on my PC too… RAM, Motherboard, graphics card and possibly even the processor… so potentially everything other than the hard disk, which may also fail anyway.

I can now prove beyond doubt that the Nintedo Wii is tough as nails.

So… the other day, my sister was attempting to plug in a video, and managed to knock the TV over. Said TV landed on my Wii with a tremendous crash, resting it’s corner on my poor little Wii. (This is the TV in question, btw. Note how it is big and heavy.)

So, after a lot of yelling and chaos in which the phone rings and there’s someone at the door all at the same time as this is going on, TV is eventually removed. So, my brother helps me get everything set up to see what the damage is, the obvious damage is thus. The metal fronting surrounding the gamecube controller ports is bent out of of shape, which means the cover no longer sits flat. (Like so, and so.)

After borrowing betteries for my Wiimote, and careful testing of GC ports by way of windwaker, it basically turns out that Wii is… well… pretty indestructible. The immediately visible damage was the only damage done.

There are no words to express my relief at this point, though I’m not exactly impressed at the aesthetic damage.

If you visited ninjascribbles in the last couple of days (unlikely I know), you’ll have noticed the distinct lack of… well… anything, actually.

What with my HD dieing and then all the other crap I decided it’d be better to just start over from scratch on the website. And… then I remembered I can’t script at the best of times and Nvu does not not not like my existing css/html for some reason.

So I just coded a splashpage and had done with it. I’ll get to fixing it when I get back to Stoke and Paula can help me. =)

It does kinda bug me how much I suck at the scripts though. It’s something I’d actually like to be good at, but I can’t seem to get my head around it.

In other news, I’ve got an ever-growing list of plotbunnies (most of them for crossovers) and I’ve come up with two more roleplays I wanna do over at gfg. As if what I’m dealing with already isn’t enough. D:

Sparkles! =D

I made them myself. ^_^

Some character concept art for a klik game I’m making. This is Mokko, she’s a fairy-girl… sort of… >.>

Bear in mind that the character has to fit neatly into a 40-odd pixel sprite, and still be distinctive, so the design is quite simple.

Been messing with a new style, so I’ve learned a bunch of new techniques while I’ve been doing this. This’ll probably end up being used for stuff like the title screen and the “Mokko’s Adventure” mini-site.

So, I didn’t win that manga contest… Can’t say I’m not a little bit dissapointed about it, I’ll probably see if my uni’s news paper want’s a five-page comic for an issue or something…

On the plus side, I’ve managed to land a couple of commissions, so yeeeey~! (OK, the commissioners are my friend and my mum… but they’re still paying me… =3)

Giftart for Paul. His character, Haruno Yasushi, from our “Ninjas of Konoha” Rp.

I fail at backgrounds… hence, the abstractness. There were supposed to be stormclouds and dramaz… but I ended up with this instead. =/ He’s a very grey character… o.o

Concept Art! This for “Mokko’s Adventure,” which is a klik game I’ve started and restarted over about five years and with one thing and another never finished. So, this is Mokko, about to bring some pain upon that evil looking wizardy fella down there.

Stuff I like in this image:

The clouds, the mountains, the river, Mokko.

Stuff I hate in this image:

Everything else!! But most especially that bloomin’ grass! Augh! D:

So I finally got my essay handed in! (And a few days early too! =D) So I’ve been starting to work through my requests and other stuffs that I’ve been planning for a while. I’ve also had a few chances to get out climbing, which has been fantastic. (Finally added a few routes to my UCK logbook.) Getting on real rock was a great (if painful) experience (grit, ow.). Though I’ll admit, I can’t wait to get back on the wall next month, I’m so out of practice. o.o

And my Neomag entry is done and sent, so I just have to hope that something comes of it, (here is where I make the assumption the postal service got it there on time… Postal strikes… grr…) the prize is kinda cool. (And the exposure won’t hurt either.)

Arnfield Reservoir and Bottoms Reservoir, from Hobson Moor. (Or somewhere in that general area, anyway.)

So after I finished my 24 hour blogathon yesterday I decided to go on a 7 mile hike with my dad and my brother, in a futile attempt to stay awake for the rest of the day.

This is one of my favourite pictures (and one of the first I took.) Edited to crop out a gate and to clear up the colours a little. =)

Exhausting walk, but enjoyable all the same, and I got to test out my hiking boots. =)
